It has been warm these
past few days, and mostly dry. Then it stormed
last night. It was fun.
We have been doing lot's of service this past week. Edmonton hosted a
Canada wide gymnastics tournament. They enlisted the missionaries to
help. We went twice. We were security, checking everyone's
credentials, making sure no spectators snuck in, ect. We also put a
bunch of flower pots together and put them around. It was really cool
to see all the gymnastics. The competitor that won the gold for all
around was a member, and his dad was a volunteer. That was cool
service. Afterward they feed us and gave us t-shirts, so that was
cool.
Another service we did this week was for a big track meet. We helped
with concessions. We cooked burgers and wrapped them and helped
restock drinks and all sorts of stuff like that. We felt like
restaurant employees, but they definitely needed it. The food was
completely gone. They were being faster than could be cooked,
processed, or delivered; one lady made at least three trips to the
store to buy more food.
For missionary work we have been a bit slower. We met with a less
active man, and that was a little miracle, as he has been very
difficult to meet with.
I felt a bit sick Friday, but I'm fine. It was probably just a 24 hour
bug. My companion has been suffering from back pain though. Luckily
there is a chiropractor that lets missionaries see him for free. That
has been helping him a lot lately.
