Many Seasons

We had snow a few days back. It was down to -10, but then jumped back up to +7 and everything melted again. It has been cold, warm, windy, and even kinda hot all in the last week.
This week was slow. Very slow. we didn't have any lessons, or at least none of our own. We passed over one of our investigators that is living in another stake. I also found out I only have $3 on my card. I have some cash, lots of pasta, and It's the end of the month, so I won't starve. Still, dang. Oh well, I needed to cut down on my food storage in case I get transferred soon.
Hopefully soon we will have lots of stories of amazing lessons and baptized converts. Just not quite yet.

It snowed. For two days Canada decided to get cold again and snowed.
We probably got about 4 or 5 inches of snow. Then it got warm again
and much of it melted. There is a lot of water, a lot of  ice, a lot
of snow, and slush. Fun.
So my new companion is good. His name is Elder Russell. He is a hard
worker, and we have been keeping busy. This week has been mostly slow,
with some awesome experiences. We found two golden Investigators. They
were really prepared. Hopefully we will be teaching them more soon. We
have been well. My throat has been sore, but I'm fine.

It has stayed really warm here. We had up to plus 10 in the day. It
still freezes at night, so there are a lot of frozen puddles. Saturday
was really windy though. It wasn't cold, but it got up to 50, 60 and
70 kilometres an hour. Some gusts were really cold, even though it was
about plus 5.

We got transfer calls yesterday. Elder Silva will be going to Red Deer
and I will be serving with Elder Russel. We had a good last week
together. We made our goal of three lessons in one day only once, but
we got close other days. We often had at least three set up, but
people kept cancelling. We have been working hard though. We have also
been cleaning and getting everything ready for Wednesday. We
re-established contact with an old Investigator, taught a baptist, and
I took a YSA member with me tracting. That was fun.

I've been well. Elder Silva has been better. He is still kinda sick. I
love you all.

Last Tuesday it rained. It is still January. WHAT THE HECK CANADA!!!
Rain in the middle of winter is not a good thing. There are sheets of
ice everywhere and everyone has been slipping. In our mission there is
an informal but honoured rule that if some missionary falls, they have
to buy their district doughnuts. Needless to say, many doughnuts were
exchanged on Thursday. It has been almost plus 10 some days, and with
lots of wind, so at helped dry things out. Lots of snow has melted. We
had a tiny amount of snow Sunday, but it doesn't even begin to make up
for what was lost. It is very strange to see grass patches poking out
of the snow. The good thing is that it has been very warm. Plus
Canadians are probably the best at removing/dealing with ice.

It has been a slow week. We have been trying to set up lessons, but
most ended up cancelling or being moved. On Sunday we started the day
with a possibility of three to four lessons and two or three people at
church. No one came to church, and one by one everything canceled or
postponed until we had nothing to do. My companion wasn't feeling
good, so he just slept and I read Jesus the Christ.  A lot of
missionary have been getting sick lately, except me (knock on wood).

On a positive note, things are looking up. One of our investigator
that we couldn't meet with since November should finally be getting
time open, we are going to get member homes with some of our
investagators and less actives, and soccer. We are starting soccer in
our stake center and inviting everyone. Last week it kinda flopped. We
had six missionaries, one member, and his less active friend. It was
still a lot of fun, but a lot more Spanish people told us they could
come next week. It will be a great fellowshipping/finding tool for us,
and an excellent way to use our least effective time of the day for
something productive.

I've been well. I'm not sick yet. I wish the best for everyone.
